Sixty years of freedom………………….

Freedom to spit/piss/throw garbage on the road and public places.

Freedom to drive as you please on the roads with utter disregard to others….

Freedom to say ..yeh theyra baap ka maal hai kya?

Freedom to use public money as your own

Freedom to take bribes

Freedom to join politics and then use caste /religion/goondas to further your own and party interests

Freedom to make education /health a dirty business

Freedom to sell spurious drugs

Freedom by the politicians and the powers to be not to provide even basic amenities to the public which voted them into power, while making crores of rupees

Freedom not to provide roads and other infrastructure while the powers to be ride on high powered vehicles

Freedom to kill and get away with it, if you are a politician/if you have deep pockets/& if you have power

Freedom to use Gandhigiri even after committing a crime

Sure you can add your own freedoms…………………….

This is a country of freedoms…………….. without the responsibility..

But inspite of all this . a small voice within me peeps out and says…………………

Breathes there a man whose soul so dead , that never to himself hath said ….this is my own my native land?

Jai Hind. Greetings to you on the 60th anniversary of our Independence.

People’s car??

I wonder if Mr.Ratan Tata ever drives himself in the streets of Indian cities. Probably not.He definitely must be chauffer driven in Mumbai , where in comparison to other cities, traffic is still a bit orderly and people follow some rules.

I wonder what the people’s car would do to a city like Hyderabad, where I live & drive around. Its simply the wild west.People hardly follow any rules. The people jump red lights with impunity right under the traffic cops nose.

There are traffic jams everywhere.People get killed regularly on a daily basis by the lorries. There is hardly a car without a dent.

Of course what can I say about the two wheelers, who are a law unto themselves? And the auto rickshaws , a grade above them? Many of them I am sure will graduate to a people’s car.

What can be said of the road infrastructure, the pollution etc.,…

But Mr. Tata I ‘m sure you have thought about all this and also the competition which will follow your car…..

I am sure most people will have a car with nowhere to go…………………..

Goodbye Mr. President

Goodbye Mr.Kalam,

It was wonderful knowing you during the past five years you have been in office as The president of India.

Many things come to my mind , the first one of course knowing that many of your important project reports were typed on our Network typrewriter when you were at DRDL in Hyderabad..

The success of all your projects are evident as all your projects fructify into weapon systems and are being inducted into the various services.

As pictures of your humble beginnings from Rameswaram came out , I was proud to know even a humble person in India can rise to the topmost job in India irrespective of religion , caste or creed.

And as news filtered through we came to know that you were a teaching professor in Anna University in Chennai assisting a Christian priest in attaining a phd degree among other teaching assignments.

And you played the veena ,that you were a vegetarian…………..

The sight of you in a gravity pilot suit as you flew a Sukhov- a supersonic fighter plane is still fresh in my mind.

You have set high standards in your behavior as a President in the highest office,You have revived so many values into the system . My head stands proud as I came to know that you did not use the military trucks for moving your personal luggage. You have paid for your personal guests who visited you at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

It was like seeing a Lotus in a cess pool………………………..

You gave a vision statement for the country, to see itself as a superpower by the year 2020.

You touched the lives of ordinary people and children especially daring them to dream ….. and allowing children and the common citizen access into the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

You even lead a Spartan life in a palace like Rashtrapathi Bhavan where viceroys lived a princely life, occupying only four of the 110 rooms…………………..

You shall always remain a people’s president, and one of the best India had.

Sir good bye. I, an unknown Indian salute you.I am sure there are millions of Indians like me.

Awaken The Leader In You

Awaken The Leader In You
Excerpts from an article by Sharif Khan

Many motivational experts say that leaders are made, not born. I beg to differ. I believe we are natural born leaders, but have been deprogrammed along the way.

As children, we were natural leaders - curious and humble, always hungry and thirsty for knowledge, with an incredibly vivid imagination. We knew exactly what we wanted, were persistent and determined in getting what we wanted and had the ability to influence everyone around us to help us in accomplishing our mission.

So what happened to us as adults?

Over time, our curiosity and imagination started getting curbed by parents and teachers telling us what to do or not do. Instead of learning to become creative, independent, self-reliant and think for ourselves, we learnt how to obey and intelligently follow rules to keep the corporate machine humming.

So, if you want to re-awaken the Leader in you, here are ten easy steps to rekindle your passion for greatness...

1. Humility

Leadership starts with humility. Nobody wants to follow someone who is arrogant. Be humble as a child, always curious, always hungry and thirsty for knowledge. Always growing.

2. SWOT Yourself

This strategic management tool can just as effectively be used in your own professional development as a leader. Self-knowledge, self-remembering, and self-honoring. Also make sure to list down any doubts, anxieties, fears, and worries that you may have. By bringing them to conscious awareness you can begin to defeat them.

3. Follow Your Bliss

Regardless of how busy you are, always take time to do what you love doing. If you were to video tape yourself for a day, you would be shocked to see how much time goes to waste! Being an alive and vital person vitalizes others. This makes you a charismatic leader.

4. Dream Big

Don't be small and realistic; be bold and unrealistic! Go for the Gold, the Pulitzer, the Nobel, the Oscar, the highest you can possibly achieve in your field. Now list every single reason why you CAN achieve your dream instead of worrying about why you can't.

5. Vision

If you can't see yourself winning that award and feel the tears of triumph streaming down your face, it's unlikely you will be able to lead yourself or others to victory. Visualize success. See it, smell it, taste it, hear it, feel it in your gut.

6. Perseverance

Victory belongs to those who want it the most and stay in it the longest. Consistent action every day.

7. Honour Your Word

Every time you break your word, you lose power. You can accumulate all the toys and riches in the world, but you only have one reputation in life. Your word is gold. Honor it.

8.. Get a Mentor

Preferably someone who has already achieved a high degree of success in your field. Don't be afraid to ask. You've got nothing to lose. Also, take time to study autobiographies of great leaders that you admire and can learn from.

9. Be Yourself

Learn but don't imitate. Everyone has a distinct leadership style. A quiet and simple Gandhi or a soft-spoken peanut farmer named Jimmy Carter, who became president of the United States and won a Nobel Peace Prize, have been just as effective world leaders as a loud and flamboyant Churchill, or the tough leadership style employed by The Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher. Be yourself. Become a first rate YOU instead of a second rate somebody else.

10. Give. Finally, be a giver

If you want more love, respect, support and compassion… give love, give respect, give support, and give compassion. As Sir Winston Churchill once said…

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."
