People’s car??

I wonder if Mr.Ratan Tata ever drives himself in the streets of Indian cities. Probably not.He definitely must be chauffer driven in Mumbai , where in comparison to other cities, traffic is still a bit orderly and people follow some rules.

I wonder what the people’s car would do to a city like Hyderabad, where I live & drive around. Its simply the wild west.People hardly follow any rules. The people jump red lights with impunity right under the traffic cops nose.

There are traffic jams everywhere.People get killed regularly on a daily basis by the lorries. There is hardly a car without a dent.

Of course what can I say about the two wheelers, who are a law unto themselves? And the auto rickshaws , a grade above them? Many of them I am sure will graduate to a people’s car.

What can be said of the road infrastructure, the pollution etc.,…

But Mr. Tata I ‘m sure you have thought about all this and also the competition which will follow your car…..

I am sure most people will have a car with nowhere to go…………………..

Goodbye Mr. President

Goodbye Mr.Kalam,

It was wonderful knowing you during the past five years you have been in office as The president of India.

Many things come to my mind , the first one of course knowing that many of your important project reports were typed on our Network typrewriter when you were at DRDL in Hyderabad..

The success of all your projects are evident as all your projects fructify into weapon systems and are being inducted into the various services.

As pictures of your humble beginnings from Rameswaram came out , I was proud to know even a humble person in India can rise to the topmost job in India irrespective of religion , caste or creed.

And as news filtered through we came to know that you were a teaching professor in Anna University in Chennai assisting a Christian priest in attaining a phd degree among other teaching assignments.

And you played the veena ,that you were a vegetarian…………..

The sight of you in a gravity pilot suit as you flew a Sukhov- a supersonic fighter plane is still fresh in my mind.

You have set high standards in your behavior as a President in the highest office,You have revived so many values into the system . My head stands proud as I came to know that you did not use the military trucks for moving your personal luggage. You have paid for your personal guests who visited you at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

It was like seeing a Lotus in a cess pool………………………..

You gave a vision statement for the country, to see itself as a superpower by the year 2020.

You touched the lives of ordinary people and children especially daring them to dream ….. and allowing children and the common citizen access into the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

You even lead a Spartan life in a palace like Rashtrapathi Bhavan where viceroys lived a princely life, occupying only four of the 110 rooms…………………..

You shall always remain a people’s president, and one of the best India had.

Sir good bye. I, an unknown Indian salute you.I am sure there are millions of Indians like me.
