The TV serial AWAKE on Netflix is the story of a joint International effort to fly to the planet Mars.The various issues they face on their journey is what the story is about.
In one such life and death situation regarding shortage of water, when the Space Centre suggests a complicated and dangerous solution to collect water, which they run out of ,one of the characters says, I am ready to die for HOPE.
What would life be without Hope.?
The situation the whole world is in because of the pandemic is testing each and every one of us . While millions have died all over the world and in our country as the virus counts go up by the day, all of us live in Hope.
Hope that the vacine will be coming at least by the end of the year or by the first few months in the new year.
Hope that international flights start so that people who are separated because of the pandemic rejoin their families and loved ones.
Hope that the people who lost their jobs will regain it or find jobs as the economy returns.
Hope that children will be able to go back to their normal school & college lives and not stare at computer screens.
Hope that the social gatherings & get togethers we had resumes.
Hope that life goes back to the Normal and not the "New Normal".
Meanwhie we go about our lives as best as possible with Hope to booster us.
My own tryst with the pandemic, was the moving to a senior retirement community from one city to another, as the covid rages through the country.Each step was loaded with uncertainities and we held on to Hope and took every step to reach the community , ably supported by the team which runs the community.
Being a part of the community, living in comparative security, We hope for the return of lives we were used to. The Normal and not the New normal.
